Trash collection in Roanoke County takes place every week. The collection starts at 7 am on your collection day, and ends at 5 pm, so make sure you have your trash carts placed at the curbside during all this time.

Roanoke County Holiday Trash Schedule 

  • Memorial Day – May 29 – June 2, 2023
    No collection. Schedule will shift to the next day till the end of the week.
  • Juneteenth – June 19-23, 2023
    No collection. Schedule will shift to the next day till the end of the week.
  • Independence Day – July 4, 2023
    Monday pickups collected on time.
    Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday routes collection one day late.
    Offices will remain closed on Tuesday 7/4.
  • Labor Day – September 4, 2023
    No collection. Schedule will shift to the next day till the end of the week.
  • Veterans’ Day – November 11, 2023
    Collection will occur on time.
  • Thanksgiving Holiday Week – November 20-24, 2023
    Monday and Tuesday pickups collected on Monday November 20.
    Wednesday routes collected on Tuesday November 21.
    Thursday routes collected on Wednesday November 22.
    Offices closed on Thursday 11/23 and Friday 11/24.
  • Week Before Christmas – December 18-22, 2023
    Collection on schedule all week. However, the offices will remain closed on 12/22. 
  • Christmas Week – December 25-29, 2023
    Schedule will shift to the next day till the end of the week.
